Complaints of attacks by 8in tall Yorkshire terrier Peggy have brought mail to a standstill for a month. Neighbours are furious at the disruption – but they also live in fear of her. One said: “She looks cute but she’s got that glint of evil in her eye.” Owner Patrick Joyce, 25, however, insisted Peggy only growls at the postmen and never attacks them. Patrick, who lives with his
parents, four sisters and brother, added: “She’s just a harmless little thing.” But Royal Mail stopped posties going to Dorset Gardens in Northampton on December 7 because bosses said mail “cannot be delivered safely”. A resident said: “It is a vicious little thing. I’ve seen it g
o for the postman.” Royal Mail is now in talks
about the situation with the council, which confirmed it h
ad received complaints from the neighbourhood about the dog and w
ould be taking action.
